not to worry, i did manage to find a vintage store in germany. ha! probably not the smartest thing i have done to buy something glass and then attempt to travel across the country with it. but i couldn't pass it up.... the lady told me it was from the 1960's. i was in need of this german teapot. don't you think? wish me luck on getting it home in one piece! i am so excited to be back in the states and see all of my favorite people. i promise i will post more germany soon-ish.

I was talking to seester this morning on g-chat, and I came to the realization that this summer truly is going to be awesome! Some things I am looking forward to...

1. Living in Germany for a month! (I leave in 9 days! gulp.)

2. Having seester and her little family move to Utah for the summer! (FINALLY.)

3. Keeping my fun job all summer!

4. Getting some school credits over with this summer so I can graduate soon! (15 credits on the menu for this summer)

5. And going on a BIG family trip to Canada in July. (Casey included!)

Sounds perfect right? I think so.

Here is a pretty picture for you. I wish this was in my room, but then again I guess I wouldn't have room to walk if it was. Maybe someday!

Last weekend when I was at home mom and I came across this old picture frame she had in the hall closet. It is now my next project. It is such a cool frame because it doesn't have to be a piece of flat art work. So I am going to remove the vase and sticks off the board and repaint the board. But what else should I do? Anyone have any awesome ideas? I think this could turn into a really fun project but I am stumped on what to do! HELP. Okay, thanks :)

Okay, I have been thinking while writing this post. Maybe I could do something cool like those leaves? Also, another bizarre thought. This may just sound cool in my head. Let me know if it sounds stupid when I put it out there. What if I painted the canvas just one solid color (a cool green perhaps?) and then framed 3-5 milk glass vases in the bottom? Stupid? (Sisters, be totally honest).

Yes, I know my last post was October 6th and a LOT has happened since then. Unfortunately I have not uploaded my photos from my camera to my computer, but I will work on it. Just thought I would drop in and at least shout out a few of my 2010 resolutions. That way I am a little more motivated since everyone else will see them as well.

Workout more often (I'm serious) This semester I am in an aerobic kickboxing class and this morning was our first workout...I can already tell this class is going to be good for me. Especially with a teacher who has the name of Emerald Green.

Learn/Practice my cooking skills. Although I don't have many cooking skills my job at Kitchen Kneads truly gets me excited! I now have two cook books. "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" and "The New Best Recipe" Does anyone else have "The New Best Recipe"? IT IS AWESOME.
Sew more. Inspired by sister Kellie's resolution to learn how to sew, I need to keep up on it. I am very excited for the upcoming semester's when I get to take more sewing classes!

Renovate my closet throughout the year. Be better at getting rid of things and actually wear more of my clothes! I find that I get stuck wearing the same tops and I forget about other ones I have. And if clothes start to get boring, spice them up with new buttons and other add-on's.

Practice my photography. Santa was extremely nice this year and brought me a Nikon D3000. Now I just need to learn how to use it...

Write in my journal AT LEAST once a week. I would like this to be something that I get into the habit of doing DAILY, but for now I will train myself to do it once a week.

DAILY scripture study. I am pretty good at reading a little bit before I go to sleep, but I need to learn to actually STUDY what I am reading.

Morning prayers. Great at prayers before bed, but sometimes I am not the best at remembering it when I get out of bed. And I don't mean just a prayer on my breakfast (although that is still a good thing :) )

Better prepare my Sunday school lessons. This year we are studying the Old Testament, which is something I am not very knowledgeable about. So it is time to dig deep and take a lot more time when preparing my lessons.

And finally, give more compliments. I won't lie, it makes me feel great when someone gives me a compliment, so it would be a good idea if I got into a better habit of giving them out myself.

Also, sister Jill and I were talking today about the insert key on computers. I really, REALLY don't like that key. I was so frustrated earlier this afternoon while trying to send out a big e-mail to my advisor and while I was trying to add a few more comments, I had to practically start all over because I couldn't remember what key causes that problem. Sister and I therefore added the insert key to our list of THINGS WE DON'T UNDERSTAND.

Here is something I do understand, and hope to learn how to do someday...

My favorite before and after yet! This is a chair I picked up for $8.00 and my mom found the seat cover for $5.00! The chair was pretty sick in the beginning but now I love it!

The old fabric from the chair. The green was on top and then there was a navy blue fabric below that.

After sanding the chair down the painting began! A nice "lemon grass" green.

Yesterday Mom and I went thrifting and it was pure magic all the things we found.

This I found for seventy-five cents! Thanks Mom! It is has roses all around it if you can't quite make out the details. It has been washed and is now the new home for my aspiring button collection. If you find any good buttons that you don't want, send them my way!

This is also such a treasure. It is a silhouette ring and I only had to pay $8.00! The girl at the store was sad to see it go, but I am very happy. Perfect condition.

These are amazing. They are in perfect condition and were only $1.50. Again, thanks Mom! I cannot wait to take them to school.

And finally I found these little silhouette frames that are SO darling. And they only set me back $10.00! What a find. It was a great day for thrifting!

Happy late Halloween! Last night me and roommates had fun getting all dressed up, and we went to the Howl party... not impressed. Kind of felt like I wasted my money. Tonight we went to Angie's because my roommate Carly made a bet with some boy's from highschool that she could "clean the sink" by herself. Which is where they bring out a sinkful of ice cream and if you finish it you get a bumper sticker and feel great about yourself. If she finished it by herself the boys would buy her dinner, but if she didn't finish she had to make the boys dinner. We were feeling pretty good that she could finish it.. but let's just say she didn't finish and only ONE of the boys finished. And as he finished he ran out of the diner and puked on the second door on the way out, and then finished it off four more times outside.... a hilarious but discusting evening. Has anyone else "cleaned the sink"???

so tonight we had a little contest in our building. first we had a pumpkin carving contest, and then we had a door decorating contest. we happened to be ten minutes LATE to the pumpkin carving contest because we got started late on both of our projects... funny thing is, we ended up WINNING the pumpkin carving contest. then we headed back down to our room to be judged for our door decorating and we ALSO ended up walking away with first prize on that baby as well. so our room is pretty happy tonight. we are now loaded with 3 totes of candy, a pumpkin pie and the X-MEN movie. we love contests! ha.

So last night I had my first real car problem. Mac & I got in the car to go and rent ourselves a movie and BAM. My car wouldn't start. Battery is dead. AH! I had no clue what to do. Called my friend Kyle and he came down to the parking lot and jumped my car for me and then we went and drove it around for about 25 minutes just keeping it going. When we got back to the parking lot I turned it off, and then tried to start it back up again to see if it took the charge.. and it didn't... so now I think I need a new battery?

How about a Mazda 3?!?! :)
